In 1964, Hugh the Elder Chamberlen proposed the idea of health insurance. After three centuries, the “accident insurance” was established. This was much like the traditional present day disability insurance. This form of health service continued to exist up to the 20th century. During the upper half or 20th century, the disability insurance which was the traditional program evolved into modern day health insurance programs.
