State health care workers rally for higher pay, health insurance

10 06 2010 Autor: Administrator

State care workers are lobbying for higher pay and better health insurance coverages.  In a study recently made, it was found that aside from lower pay, majority of health care workers do not have appropriate health insurance coverages.  They don’t even qualify for programs under the state’s new universal health care law in many cases. Personal care assistants are paid a flat hourly rate of $10.84 and receive no sick days, holidays or vacation days.

Lawmakers are now planning to ammend and re-develop laws to boost their pay and benefits .
